Vermont SQL Server Special Interest Group

About Us...

The Vermont Sql Server Special Interest Group was founded in April 2003 by a group of professional developers and DBAs to create a community for learning and sharing knowledge.

Our Group usually meets once every other month on Wednesday, in the Burlington area. We are a special interest group affiliated with the Vermont Dot Net User Group.

We would like to thank MyWebGrocer for their generous donation of meeting space!

Azure Security Toolkit: Top Reasons You’re a Data-Breach Candidate

Hugo Shebbeare

Azure Security Toolkit: an Overview, and Top Reasons You’re a Data-Breach Candidate In a data breach world, where one can guarantee that are events under reported, it’s hard to believe, but not surprising to understand why we see so much repetition by those who mismanage, or politicise the management of data to squash their employees from “doing the right thing.” In this session we explore new Azure Command Line tools to easily maintain and deploy Security Controls from the AzSK (Azure Security Kit), as well as traditional controls for on-premise instances. Furthermore, if your preference is PowerShell, we’ll do an overview of near equivalents from SQL Health Check, DBAtools and SDUTOOLs repositories, that are available for free for the community. To close up the session, we’ll take a light-hearted review, of the top reasons why your company is about to hit the data breach iceberg, while providing solutions to the wall of ignorance you’ll face in 80% of organisations, from the author’s experience.
